Body acne can be embarrassing to have to deal with. It's bad enough to have to deal with acne on your face, but now you may have to deal with it on your chest, arms, back, legs, or buttocks. If you have this issue, it can be difficult, as you may want to cover it up all of the time, but this may be hard when you have to bare your skin from time to time. If you have body acne, there may be some things you can do to treat this condition and prevent it from ever returning. Read on for some helpful tips on how to treat body acne.
Wash With An Acne Wash
Wash your body with an acne body wash to remove oils from the body without drying out your skin too harshly. You can find acne body washes with ointments at your local pharmacy or big box store. Wash your body with a loofah to remove dead skin cells, which may be the cause of your acne in the first place. Gently scrub all of your skin on the body with the loofah and the body wash, then rinse away the body wash thoroughly. Your regular soap may be drying your skin out too much and causing your skin to increase oil production. When this occurs, acne can appear.
Bathe Often
Be sure you are bathing often to remove daily grime from your body, especially after doing anything where you have sweat such as exercising or yard work. If you work in an environment where elements of your day get all over your body, you need to bathe to remove this grime from your body as well. Bathe often to help remove sweat and grime and clear out your pores.
Apply An Acne Cream
You can apply acne ointments to the body, just as you would your face. Apply according to the manufacturer's instructions and apply it directly to the acne-prone areas, or to the pimples themselves. Use your ointments daily, and do not pop or pick at your pimples to prevent causing irritation or scarring.
If you have body acne, it can be embarrassing to bare your skin. You should talk to a dermatologist about your skin concerns and discuss possible treatments.
